WANA (Apr 09) – Coinciding with Iran’s National Nuclear Technology Day, Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, visited the exhibition showcasing the country’s nuclear industry achievements, where he was briefed on the latest developments and innovations in this strategic sector.

On the morning of Wednesday, April 9 (Farvardin 20), President Pezeshkian attended the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), where he toured the exhibition and got an up-close look at the recent advancements in Iran’s nuclear technology.

Accompanied by Mohammad Eslami, head of the AEOI, and several senior officials, the president was introduced to the latest accomplishments of Iranian experts across various areas of nuclear technology—including the fuel cycle, energy and electricity production, heavy water and its derivatives, radiopharmaceuticals, plasma technology, radiation applications, and other cutting-edge innovations.

The exhibition is organized into three main sections:

The first section, focused on the nuclear fuel cycle, features booths on airborne geophysics, uranium exploration and mining projects, yellowcake production, uranium processing, fuel pellet and assembly manufacturing, and enrichment processes.

The second section centers on nuclear energy, highlighting projects related to atomic power plants. It includes updates on the construction of Units 2 and 3 at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, electricity output reports for Unit 1, progress on the Karun Nuclear Power Plant, localization of power and research reactor construction, and the design and production of spare parts for Bushehr.

The third section is dedicated to nuclear technology applications and showcases a range of technologies and products, including heavy water and deuterium compound production, radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear measurement equipment, plasma technology development, medical and agricultural radiation applications, blood irradiation, industrial accelerators, and emerging technologies such as quantum and quantum-related innovations. It also features the design and production of various industrial and medical lasers.

During the roughly one-hour visit, President Pezeshkian toured all the exhibition booths, engaging in conversations with nuclear experts and specialists to gain insight into the latest efforts and advancements in the field.
